We seem to all be suffering a common problem these days, WHERE DID OUR LIVES GO? Our brains seem to still be 18, but our bodies are talking a different language. Sarah Orne Jewett puts it much more eloquently than do I: “Neither of my companions was troubled by her burden of years. I hoped in my heart that I might be like them as I lived on into age, and then smiled to think that I too was no longer very young. So we always keep the same hearts, though our outer framework fails and shows the touch of time.”

Leslie, I love this photo of you and your dad. I found myself staring at it a long time. I assume that when I was a high school grad I would have thought your dad looked old. Now, I see a guy much younger than I am and really good looking while he proudly stands next to his cutie pie daughter. Darcie
ReplyDeleteThanks Darcie, actually I don't really like this pic of us, but it's the only 1 I have from graduation w/ my dad. He did age very well; I used to take him with me to our Mayflower functions, dinners, luncheons, etc. when he was here & my friends there thought I was kidding about his being my dad, of course, when they 1st met him I mean. He aged very well...and will very handsome even as an older man. He once sat staring at me and said, "You know, I think you will age well." I was young enough that I wasn't thinking about "aging" yet...we had a good laugh over it. Thanks for your kind words. I've found a ton of stuff to share, & it's NOT all about me! I'll be posting as I have time!
