We seem to all be suffering a common problem these days, WHERE DID OUR LIVES GO? Our brains seem to still be 18, but our bodies are talking a different language. Sarah Orne Jewett puts it much more eloquently than do I:

“Neither of my companions was troubled by her burden of years. I hoped in my heart that I might be like them as I lived on into age, and then smiled to think that I too was no longer very young. So we always keep the same hearts, though our outer framework fails and shows the touch of time.”

Kert makes a new video for the USS IOWA

If you follow my blog you'll already know my KHS69 brother Kert is a film maker & editor in Burbank, CA.  He has been filming the story of the moving, refurbishing and opening of the USS IOWA at San Pedro, CA.  She was opened to the public this week and he's now made a new video which will be used as a promo to obtain more publicity for the project.  If you're in the LA area, be sure to go tour the ship!  The photography on this video is spectacular; if you've watched before, you'll see this is in part a compilation of earlier video with the story updated.  It's 6:11 minutes long, but watch the clock, at 5:53 you will see a split second shot of his handsome face!   ENJOY

John was the brother of our classmate Jean, so our condolences go to the Henke family.  John and his father were very active in the private and corporate aircraft industry for many years; Todd took flying lessons as a young man from John's father.  Always such connections in our Kirkwood roots!

May John rest in peace and love.
