We seem to all be suffering a common problem these days, WHERE DID OUR LIVES GO? Our brains seem to still be 18, but our bodies are talking a different language. Sarah Orne Jewett puts it much more eloquently than do I:

“Neither of my companions was troubled by her burden of years. I hoped in my heart that I might be like them as I lived on into age, and then smiled to think that I too was no longer very young. So we always keep the same hearts, though our outer framework fails and shows the touch of time.”

Viet Nam Wall and KHS65

Another of our KHS65 classmates, Russ Jaeger who lives on the west coast of Florida, has noticed the postings I've done about Veterans and our classmate Jerome Rawlings who did not make it home from THAT war. Recently Russ was in Washington, DC and sends these photos for us. When I was at the Wall in 1987 the internet wasn't on my radar, let alone blogging! I did go to the Wall, with a business colleague who had served and lost his best buddy; it was a moving visit and I was glad I had Jerry's name to visit and admire while my friend grieved silently for his friend. Thanks so much Russ for staying in touch with your roots and for sending these images. Russ is also checking out his personal archives to find me some more Pitman photos to post...that project a bit behind due to my recent move, but I'm in my new condo and trying to get my life out of boxes and into order! HA! What an oxymoron THAT is!

Russ explains the photos: "...I remembered his tribute on the KHS65 blog and thought you might add these. I was unable to get the whole page in focus so had to take 2 pictures with his name and hometown and location on the wall (53E line 22). A little glare with the wall photo also but you can see his name midway on the left side."
