So sad that we have lost yet another member of our class; a loving family man and another good person. I continue to not understand why the bad guys aren't dying so young! May he rest in eternal peace and love. Thank you to Linda Girard Day for alerting me to his passing. She and Jim are in tune to so many of our classmates. That's what happens when two people who have grown up together marry and stay 'home' to live out their lives! It's called blooming where we are planted.... I find doing that reaps wonderful, meaningful rewards. I am reminded that Dale was a Veteran, having served in the First Cavalry Division, Viet Nam, 1967-68.
That news article tells about his death, which his obituary did not. I had the obituary hotlink here but it has now expired, writing 10/17/25 - it is faster to type than try to post it from the print-out I made when he died. I will quote but leave out repetitious wording:
"Norman "Dale" Andrews, Jr. October 26, 1946 - September 2, 2021
Dale Andrews of Catawissa was born in St. Louis to Norman Sr. and Imogene (nee Cox) Andrews and entered into rest Thursday September 2, 2021 at the age of 74. He is preceded in death by his younger brother Joseph, parents and his beloved stepmother Doris. He is survived by his loving wife, Patricia Andrews (nee Geerdes), 2 children, Rachel (Scott) Virtue and Rebecca (Tim) Rivera, 9 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren along with many other family and friends. Dale was a very active parishioner at Our Lady Queen of Peace in House Springs. He enjoyed spending his free time working around the house and gardening. Dale had a passion for movies and was a conservation enthusiast. He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him." Memorial donations to Viet Nam Veterans of America were requested. He is buried at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Cedar Hill, MO.
