We seem to all be suffering a common problem these days, WHERE DID OUR LIVES GO? Our brains seem to still be 18, but our bodies are talking a different language. Sarah Orne Jewett puts it much more eloquently than do I:

“Neither of my companions was troubled by her burden of years. I hoped in my heart that I might be like them as I lived on into age, and then smiled to think that I too was no longer very young. So we always keep the same hearts, though our outer framework fails and shows the touch of time.”

Carol Jessen, artist, has died in Maine - information sought

I am wondering if anyone knew Carol Ann Jessen.  I think she was in the class of 1966 and she  has died.  The obituary in the St. Louis Post Dispatch only says she died July 28.  She was a wonderful artist, spending much of her time on the coast of Maine painting.  She was a good friend of our classmate Jane Via and Jane tried to reach her not too long ago, no answer to her phone, and now it's been disconnected.  The obituary lists no contacts other than her deceased parents.  If anyone has any information about her, please let me know.  Thanks!  I just have googled around since I posted and found the last entry in her beautiful blog.  What wonderful watercolors she produced.  Check it out at http://caroljessen.blogspot.com/.  Wonder which art teacher she had a KHS??  Carol was a fairly shy girl as I remember, but I know she and Jane have stayed in touch over the years. May she rest in peace.

  1. Hi - I came across your post while looking for info on a memorial that was going to be planned for this summer for her which I didn't find. She was my teacher at Mcluer North, and several of our former teachers kept me in the loop about how she was doing. Depending on what information you need I may be able to find it or to connect you to a teacher who knows.
