KIRKWOOD KARAVAN ON THE ROAD

Hey everyone, I'm on constant overload these days so not much posting!  Sometimes I can't even get a chance to read my Facebook!!!  That's BAD!  But here is great news for those of you in DC, NY, TX and Atlanta...read on and GO..I'd REALLY REALLY love to be on this trip!  Please send me a report of your visit!  DARCIE, RON, KAREN & ALL you Texans ya just gotta go!  In my role as a Kentucky Colonel, maybe I can issue an order, but I haven't tried that facet of my honorary status!

KIRKWOOD "KARAVAN" Hits the Road!

Director of Development Jim Velten and former KHS principal Dave Holley (KHS '67) will be hitting the road on the Kirkwood Karavan to visit alumni and friends around the country!

First stop:

Feb. 28 in Washington D.C.!  Thank you to Ray (KHS '68) and Anne Ritchey for hosting the event.  Please join us at the Washington Golf & Country Club, 3017 N. Glebe Road, at 6 p.m.

March 1, the Karavan pulls in to New York City.  Please join us at Hurley's Salon, 232 W. 48th Street, at 6 p.m.

Austin-March 27

Houston-March 28

Atlanta-April 25

ARCADIA BOOK ON SUNSET HILLS

Many of us Kirkwoodians have connections of one sort or another to Sunset Hills, even if we only danced the nights away at "Sunset"!  My good friend Sandie Grassino, a retired history teacher, has written a great Arcadia book for Sunset Hills.  It's a must have if you have interest in Sunset Hills.  You can order it quickly and efficiently at www.arcadiapublishing.com a wonderful company which publishes all sorts of books on all sorts of locations.  I own many!  They are basically stories of cities, towns, parks, cemeteries, etc. told through old photographs with descriptive captions.  You can go to the list, check Missouri, then select Sunset Hills.  ISBN is 13:978 0 7385 8408 9, just published this summer.  ENJOY!  Kudos to Sandie, and also, if you have interest in Jefferson Barracks, she has written one on that subject too, equally as good as Sunset Hills!  And for those of you with ties to Sainte Genevieve, there is a great one for that beautiful city also!

KHS65 Reunion Committee sponsors Christmas gathering

From the Committee:  KHS65 Christmas get-together (other classes welcome) Thur., Dec. 20th, 6:30pm at Frontenac Grill, 731 S. Lindbergh, 63131 (1/2 mile north of Plaza Frontenac on Lindbergh). Rhythm Rockers band starts at 9pm. $5 cover charge (from venue, not us!) beginning at 8pm so come before 8!
